Provider Representatives
One representative from each of these local agencies is
required to serve:
Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Public Health Department, County School System and regional comprehensive behavioral health center. Other local agencies may have representation on the Board, such as: Hospitals, Children's Home Society or Domestic Violence Shelter, etc.
Non-Provider Representatives
A majority of the members of the organization's governing board are
non-providers, which include community representatives and
consumer/family representatives who are not employees of publicly or
privately funded agencies that provide direct service to children
and families. A majority of the non-providers are consumer or family
representatives who receive services from any of the governmental or
privately funded programs available for themselves and/or their
families.
These groups are defined as follows:
- Consumer/Family Representatives may receive any of the social, educational, health, behavioral health or other governmental or privately funded programs for themselves and/or their families such as: Senior Citizens, parents of children in the juvenile justice system, parents of school children, persons with disabilities, person who receive TANF, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, YWCA, 4-H, foster parents, victims of domestic violence or CWEP participants. In the context of family resource networks, a family representative is a person who receives services from a private or public program for him/herself or her/his family. A family representative, based on personal experiences with the service systems brings and additional, unique perspective to those service providers and other community members. A family representative may be an adult or a youth.
- Community Representatives may be persons who represent non-provider, non-consumer sectors of the community, such as the business community, religious groups, governmental agencies, other organizations or the community at large.
